Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan..
Located 35 kilometers from the heart of the capital of Amman, Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) was first inaugurated in 1983 to become Jordan’s key gateway to the world. The airport provides passenger, air cargo and aviation support services.
.
Queen Alia, after whom the airport is named, was Alia Baha ud-din Toukan (Arabic: علياء بھاء الدين طوقان‎‎) – she was the Queen consort of Jordan and the third wife of King Hussein of Jordan from her marriage in 1972 until her death in a helicopter crash in 1977.
.
Jordan’s strategic location in the Middle East, with direct flights to many of the world’s premier business and travel destinations, makes Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) the perfect hub.
.
A gateway to the world, QAIA gives direct access to the major destinations of Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East. This level of access gives travelers coming to, from or through QAIA a wide range of options when choosing flights and routes.
