Semenyih is s small town which located in Selangor, Malaysia, about 8 km southeast of Kajang and about 30km from Kuala Lumpur wad first incepted in 1948. The population of Semenyih is 50% of Malay, 25% for Chinese and 25% for Indian. Semenyih was known for mining industry and rubber tapping industry. This had changed over time with the advancement of technology as well as the increased in population and the needs of community.

Semenyih’s economic activities have developed considerable since national independence. Most of the residents’ grandparents are mining workers and rubber tappers.But now the town is more focus on agriculture industry, industrial estate and also tourism industry. Tourists attraction such as Broga Hill, Sungai Tekala, rabbit fun land, ostrich farm and others become one of the decisive factor pushing the economic development. The town is rapidly becoming more accessible, thanks to new highways, such as the LEKAS Highway and the Kajang SILK Highway.
